Case study · Distribution and ecommerce

Eighty-five brands to read about, and a store to buy from, on one website.

Acado Distribution has been bringing brands like Lucozade, Kinder and evian into Trinidad since 1920, most of that time as Hand Arnold. Retailers knew the name. Shoppers mostly knew the products. We built one website that does both jobs. The corporate side tells the company's story and lists every brand it carries. The store sells kitchen and household products straight to the public, one click away from any page.

The brief

Retailers wanted the brand list. Shoppers wanted the air fryer.

A distributor talks to two very different people. A supermarket buyer wants to know which brands Acado carries and who to call. A shopper in Chaguanas wants a Ninja blender delivered. Two websites would have split the brand in half. The job was one site with two front doors, a corporate side and a store, and a Shop Online button that never leaves the screen.

The results

More Google visits landing on the job application page

More Google visits to the MOO! brand page

More Google visits to the brand directory

GA4 organic landing pages, October 2025 to September 2026 compared with October 2024 to September 2025. Pulled 19 October 2026.

What we built
  1. A directory of 85 brands

Filter by category or brand, each with its own page

  2. A store up to 1,000 products

Wishlists, compare, live search and a waitlist for out-of-stock items

  3. Points on every product

Each product page shows the reward points you earn, and cart reminders bring back anyone who leaves

  4. A rebrand without a rebuild

Hand Arnold became Acado on the same website in February 2025

Information architecture

Read about the brands, then press Shop Online.

We planned the corporate site and the store as one website with two headers. The corporate side carries the history, the brand directory, Food Service, annual reports and careers. The store carries the products. Shop Online sits in the corner of every corporate page, and Main Site sits in the corner of every store page, so nobody gets lost between the two.

eCommerce

You see the points before you add it to the cart.

Every product page shows the reward points that purchase earns, next to the price. Shoppers can save favourites, compare products and join a waitlist when something sells out. The store takes card payments through Scotia, and a note at checkout makes clear that prices include VAT. Leave with something in the cart and an email reminds you 15 minutes later. A day later, a second one arrives with a 5% coupon.

Rebrand

Hand Arnold became Acado, and the website came with it.

In February 2025 Hand Arnold became Acado Distribution. We applied the new logo, colours, team photos and emails on a copy of the site, checked every page, then switched it over in one move. The brand directory, the 100-year history and the careers pages carried across, so nothing a buyer or job seeker relied on went missing.
