Case study · Bakery and food manufacturing

Every KISS cake order, from the phone call to the delivery van.

KISS sells cakes through thirteen outlets, on delivery routes, to large accounts and over the phone. Every one of those orders runs through DCMS, the Dessert Cake Management System we rebuilt from scratch for KISS. It has planned every KISS cake bake since August 2020.

What DCMS does

One system from the first call to the signed hand-over.

  1. Takes every kind of order

Special, booth, route, stock and key account orders on the same screens

  2. Builds the cake as it's ordered

250+ cakes from a few base cakes, with flavour, icing, an edible image and a greeting, priced as it changes

  3. Sets the priority

Regular, late, rush or manual, worked out from the order itself

  4. Locks the plan each evening

One Production Summary with the batch requirements for every base cake and finish

  5. Gets it out the door

Colour-coded delivery notes and drop sheets for every outlet and route, signed for on hand-over

  6. Closes the loop

Feedback and complaints logged against the order they came from

  7. Runs the booths

Clock-in, rosters and stock counts for every outlet

  8. Gives each team its own view

Ten roles, each seeing only the screens it needs
